What is with the Frogs?

Well, the frog is on the seal of Windham County, and now, giant bronze frogs adorn the Thread City Crossing Bridge in Willimantic Connecticut. It is reported that the origin dates back to a skirmish that took place in 1754 when townsfolk heard cries coming from a nearby swamp. They fired their muskets into the dark to quell the uprising. In the morning, they found dozens of dead frogs in the shrinking swamp that had apparently been vying for choice spots. This became known as the Windham Frog Fight.
